Canon’s EOS sub-brand has two meanings. EOS is an acronym for Electronic Optical System and also the name of the Greek goddess of the dawn, the awakening light. As we all know, light is an indispensable ingredient of photography, a word that means ‘writing with light.’
Every Canon digital EOS camera has a different model number, and they all have minor differences in appearance.

The author
Pieter Dhaeze was a self-employed designer and photographer at the time of publication. He shared his practical knowledge and experience through educational articles in various national magazines and on websites. He also gave training courses and workshops in his studio or on location, as well as talks on request in bookshops and at companies.
