Fotografencafé Kasteel Woerden organised a varied programme for photography enthusiasts.
13.30-17.30 A Fresh Perspective on Nature and Landscape Photography with nature and landscape photographer Theo Bosboom.
How can you still set yourself apart as a nature and landscape photographer in a world where, according to many, everything has already been photographed?
In this inspiring workshop, professional nature and landscape photographer Theo Bosboom was to show participants how they could make their images more personal, engaging and distinctive.
Registration:
Participants could register by email with their name, address and 06 number no later than Friday, 30 January 2026. The workshop was to go ahead if at least eight participants registered.

18.00-19.15 Photographers’ Dinner
The photographers’ dinner was scheduled to take place in Woerden’s most imposing monument, which has offered guests a safe haven throughout its long history.
The photographers’ dinner cost € 33,00. Card payment was available at the venue.

Evening Programme
At 19.30 the Fotoplaza evening programme began with Kjell Hoexum.
Kjell Hoexum is a photographer from The Hague. In the featured project Pearls in the Rubble he presents anti-squatting housing in an unexpectedly aesthetic way. Through high-key detail images, he reveals the hidden beauty of this form of housing, which is often seen as run-down. The project was created in collaboration with Ad Hoc Leegstandsbeheer.

The main guest was Theo Bosboom. In the Ridderzaal, he was to use three visual stories to describe how he had developed into a successful artist and photographer.
Nature and landscape photographer Theo Bosboom is known for his ability to keep finding new angles for his photographs and series. In this presentation, Theo was to explain his vision and working methods through several of his recent projects, including projects from the Netherlands, such as The Invasion of the Ermine Moths and Flowerscapes, a View from the Ground as well as projects in countries that still have extensive wilderness and natural areas, such as Shaped by the Sea (photographed in countries along Europe’s Atlantic coast) and Back to Iceland.
The presentation centred on his creative eye, his images and his enthusiasm. Theo Bosboom has been a professional nature and landscape photographer since 2013. He is widely regarded as a creative photographer with a strong eye for detail and composition and is always looking for new perspectives from which to show nature in a different way.
His images appear in well-known magazines such as National Geographic (NL) and BBC Wildlife Magazine and in newspapers such as NRC, and they regularly receive recognition in prestigious photography competitions in the Netherlands and abroad, including the Zilveren Camera, Wildlife Photographer of the Year and European Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
Bosboom has published five photobooks to date, including Back to Iceland and his latest book Flowerscapes – A View from the Ground. He is a co-founder and one of the driving forces behind the Oog op de Natuur foundation.
The evening was to be concluded from 21.15 with portfolio reviews by four professional photographers, and The Long Table.
The reviewers have years of experience in photography and extensive experience as coaches and mentors. Their advice offered participants practical guidance for getting even more out of their photographic work.
