A legendary and individualistic lens, the Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4.
Leica looks back on more than one hundred and fifty years of experience in developing lenses. This includes in particular the lenses for the legendary Leica M-System. One of these legends now returns: the Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4.
Since its introduction in 1961 and after more than thirty-five years of unchanged production, the Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 continues to enjoy great popularity today. The brightest wide-angle lens at the time has always been very compact and light, weighing only 200 grams.
In addition, it still convinces with its image quality and unique image effect. When you shoot wide open at f/1.4, you get photos that are particularly soft and almost magical bokeh. This is a look that cannot be met digital post-processing can be reached.
The Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 has its title True King of Bokeh thanks to this extraordinary image display. With a wide open aperture you will get lens flares in situations with backlight that can be used for certain creative effects. However, from an aperture of f/2.8 you will get very sharp and distortion-free results that meet modern quality standards.
This reissue is made in the Leica factory in Wetzlar - in the original vintage design and with the identical optical calculation of the first Summilux-M 35 f/1.4. Furthermore, the stainless steel front ring known as Steel Rim, the lockable focus ring and the black attachable lens hood modeled after the original.
New, however, is the second, round lens hood with E46 thread, which allows the use of filters and is included as standard.
