At the time of publication, Photo London’s website featured an installment in its series of autobiographical videos about renowned photographer Steve McCurry, revealing what happened behind the scenes during his time in Afghanistan.
The new video about Steve McCurry focused on his first eye-opening journey through Afghanistan in 1978. During the few weeks he spent there, McCurry encountered a country of contrasts: beautiful, rich, and hospitable, yet also inhospitable and troubled. His images of the conflict between the US-backed Mujahideen rebels and the Soviet-backed Afghan government were among the first to show the world what was happening.

The Connect section on Photo London’s website was a series of ad hoc collaborations with artists and photography professionals in various formats. It had launched the previous May with the exclusive premiere of Steve McCurry’s series of videos about self-isolation.
After registering, visitors could watch the new Steve McCurry video free of charge.
