The Sony FE 400–800mm F6.3–8 G OSS is Sony's first zoom lens that reaches up to 800mm. Thanks to its enormous range and fast AF, it is especially interesting for bird photographers, wildlife and sports photographers who want to capture subjects at great distances.
The internal zoom mechanism ensures that changes in the center of gravity are minimized. The lens can also be used with the separately available 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, which extend the maximum focal length to 1600 mm.
Handy zoom ring
The zoom ring rotates smoothly and precisely, so you can zoom in and out effortlessly. And cleverly done: the design ensures that your focal length does not accidentally shift.
Soft bokeh
An eleven-blade circular diaphragm helps create a beautiful spherical bokeh with a soft, cream background at a shallow depth of field.

Fast, accurate AF
Two linear precision motors ensure fast and accurate autofocus. The tracking keeps the maximum burst speed of 120 fps Alpha 9 III bee. With the focus range switch, control can be optimized for different subject distances.
Suitable for handheld and tripod recording
With a weight of ±2475 g and an internal zoom construction, the lens remains well balanced and can be used both handheld and on a tripod.
Can be used handheld without the hassle of motion blur, thanks to the built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization. Combine it with a Alpha body with image stabilization and it gets even better. The lens is robustly built, cleverly balanced and has a fixed tripod base. And handy: on a tripod you can quickly turn the base from horizontal to vertical, perfect for all kinds of photography.
Control and reliability
Three focus hold buttons, strategically placed at 90° intervals around the lens body of the FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS, provide easy access from any orientation. In addition, other functions can be assigned to these buttons.

The lens hood has a new design with a lock button and a filter opening, which makes operation even easier.
