The new Hasselblad X2D 100C is Hasselblad’s flagship mirrorless medium-format camera, featuring a 100-megapixel CMOS sensor and improvements in image quality, focusing, stabilization, responsiveness, and storage.
With its 100-megapixel, medium-format, back-side illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor and native ISO of 64, the Hasselblad X2D 100C captures vivid colors and fine detail. Its 16-bit color depth and 15 stops of dynamic range reproduce highlights and shadows naturally. Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) further optimizes color for an authentic result.
Key features
IBIS: Capture every moment sharply
The X2D 100C features 5-axis, 7-stop in-body image stabilization (IBIS) for sharp handheld images. To keep the camera’s size and weight under control, Hasselblad developed what it described as the market’s most compact medium-format IBIS solution.

A 100 MP medium-format sensor delivers rich detail, but also places stringent demands on in-camera image stabilization. To maintain strong stabilization performance while minimizing size and weight, Hasselblad had to develop a custom solution. Adding stabilization while keeping the camera light and portable was a significant challenge.
After hundreds of experiments and design refinements, Hasselblad’s engineers developed an ultra-compact voice coil motor. They integrated Hall sensors into the motor to reduce the system’s dimensions even further. This made the front of the IBIS system approximately 30% smaller than comparable solutions and allowed it to fit inside the X2D 100C’s compact body.
Camera displays
The X2D 100C’s 3.6-inch touchscreen remains clear in bright light and tilts to accommodate different shooting angles. Its 2.36-million-dot resolution produces accurate, lifelike colors. A new 1.08-inch color display on top shows camera status and shooting settings.

The 5.76-million-dot OLED viewfinder offers 1.0× magnification for a larger view of the scene. Its new electronic diopter adjustment provides a personalized, sharp viewfinder image. The clear, bright field of view makes focusing precise and comfortable.
Reliable, high-capacity internal SSD storage
High-quality image processing requires substantial storage capacity. In a first for a medium-format camera, the X2D 100C includes a built-in 1 TB SSD with write speeds of up to 2,370 MB/s and read speeds of up to 2,850 MB/s. Despite this generous built-in storage space, capacity can be expanded with a CFexpress Type B card.
Thanks to this fast storage, the X2D 100C can continuously capture 16-bit RAW images in Continuous Drive mode for stable, reliable burst shooting.
Fast, accurate focusing
The X2D 100C uses phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) to capture fleeting moments with impressive sharpness. At the press of a button, its 294 PDAF zones are distributed across the 100-megapixel sensor for fast, accurate focusing.

A refined experience with handcrafted elegance
The X2D 100C has a faster shutter response and shorter blackout time than its predecessor, helping photographers capture important moments. The streamlined Hasselblad User Interface (HUI) uses intuitive touch controls, making frequently used functions easy to access with swipes and taps.
The X2D 100C’s body is machined from solid blocks of aluminum alloy and shaped into sleek curves. Rooted in the X System’s Scandinavian design language, it now comes in a new dark gray finish.
High-speed transfer for instant sharing
The X2D 100C has a USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port supporting transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps. Its high-speed 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi connection is faster and more stable, with less interference. Pair the X2D 100C with an iPad or iPhone over Wi-Fi to transfer full-size JPG and RAW files through the Hasselblad Phocus Mobile 2 app. The app can edit and export high-quality RAW images while taking full advantage of HNCS.

This makes it easy to create and share masterpieces outside the studio. The camera also supports PD 3.0 fast charging and third-party PD 3.0 chargers, reducing the number of chargers photographers need to carry.
Three new XCD lenses for the Hasselblad X2D 100C
The latest generation of XCD lenses—the XCD 2.5/55V, XCD 2.5/38V, and XCD 2.5/90V—is compact and lightweight while maintaining Hasselblad’s high optical performance. A completely redesigned focusing module provides faster, more accurate autofocus. The leaf shutter, now even more compact, provides flash synchronization at every shutter speed.
Starting with carefully selected, high-quality glass, Hasselblad technicians meticulously grind each lens element to refine its optical quality and meet the resolution demands of 100 million pixels.
The improved focusing module uses a linear stepping motor and a smaller, lighter focusing lens group.

The lens control ring can be customized for quick access to favorite camera functions, making shooting more convenient and efficient. The ultra-compact leaf shutter supports shutter speeds up to 1/2000 s and flash synchronization at every speed.
Hasselblad XCD 2.5/38V
The low-distortion XCD 2.5/38V wide-angle lens provides a 30 mm full-frame-equivalent focal length and is well suited to documentary, street, and landscape photography. Include more of the surroundings in portraits, or use the soft bokeh from its wide f/2.5 aperture to separate the main subject from the background. Its minimum focusing distance is just 30 cm, making it ideal for food, products, and other still subjects.

Hasselblad XCD 2.5/55V
The XCD 2.5/55V standard lens provides a 43 mm full-frame-equivalent focal length and a perspective similar to that of the human eye. Combined with the soft bokeh from its wide f/2.5 aperture, this makes it an excellent choice for full-length and half-length portraits, as well as documentary, still-life, and everyday photography.
Hasselblad XCD 2.5/90V
The XCD 2.5/90V provides a 71 mm full-frame-equivalent focal length and is ideal for close-up portraits and still-life photography. This focal length, combined with a wide f/2.5 aperture, creates beautifully soft bokeh that places greater emphasis on the subject.
