The X100VI is the sixth-generation model in the X100 Series. It retains the series’ popular design and compact dimensions while delivering exceptional image quality in a small, lightweight body. The X100VI also features Fujifilm’s renowned color-reproduction technology.
The 20 film simulation modes offered by the X100VI, including the new REALA ACE mode, leverage 90 years of Fujifilm color science and digitally reproduce the look of classic photographic film types. Reproduce the classic colors and tones Fujifilm is known for, or add artistic flair.
Fujifilm X100VI anniversary edition
In celebration of Fujifilm's 90th anniversary in 2024, FUJIFILM is introducing a limited edition of the X100VI. This special and unique version will be available in a limited edition of only 1,934 copies.
This special edition of the X100VI is presented in unique packaging, including a special carrying strap, soft shutter release and historical maps. The camera body features the Fujifilm corporate logo as used when it was founded in 1934, along with a unique serial number. This makes this camera a true collector's item.
A number of features
The Fujifilm X100VI uses a backside-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR image sensor with 40.2 megapixels. The sensor uses a different pixel arrangement that enables it to capture more light than the sensors in previous X100 Series models.
The lowest natural ISO value can now be set to ISO 125 as standard. This is a setting that was only available as an 'extended option' in the previous model.
You can now add additional options by combining the X100VI's film simulation modes with others creative functions. Use analog effects like film grain, or increase color depth, brightness or sharpness to take images to the next level. You also have full control over light and shadow tones to dramatically expand the creative palette.
The camera also uses an effective autofocus algorithm to acquire focus reliably on moving subjects and during continuous shooting. Using subject distance and the subject’s position in the frame at each moment, the algorithm can predict movement accurately and maintain focus.
The X100VI also features subject-detection AF similar to cameras powered by the X-Processor 5 image processor. This enables the camera to track a wide range of subjects accurately. The system is based on deep-learning AI technology and recognizes animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes, trains, insects and drones.
It is the first X100 Series camera with 5-axis in-body image stabilization, providing up to 6.0 stops of compensation. The newly developed system causes only a slight increase in weight and size, making the camera practical in a wide range of environments and situations.
The design has remained the same compared to previous models from the X100 Series.
The shape of the grip has been carefully tested to provide just the right feel. The buttons on the back of the X100VI have been moved to a position that makes it easier to operate the camera with the right hand. This makes it even more comfortable to take photographs while looking through the viewfinder.
The X100VI body is weather-resistant when used with the optional AR-X100 adapter ring and PRF-49 protective filter. This allows photographers to keep working in challenging weather. Fujifilm’s optional LH-X100 lens hood is also compatible with the X100VI.
Furthermore, a separately offered LC-X100V (genuine) leather ever-ready bag has been added to the range. This ever-ready bag gives the camera a luxurious look. The memory card and battery can be changed and removed without removing the camera from this ever-ready case.
Availability and launch price
The Fujifilm X100VI had a suggested retail price of EUR 1,799 at the time of publication.
Viltrox WCL-X100VI Wide-angle Conversion Lens
The Viltrox WCL-X100VI Wide-angle Conversion Lens is a practical wide-angle conversion lens for the Fujifilm X100 series. It screws onto the camera’s fixed lens to widen the field of view. The converter reduces the effective focal length by a factor of 0.8x, resulting in an approximately 28mm equivalent field of view.
The camera’s maximum aperture is retained, so no stop of light is lost while the view becomes wider. This makes the WCL-X100VI useful for street photography, interiors, architecture and landscapes, or whenever the standard 35mm-equivalent field of view of the X100 series feels too narrow.
