A holiday park is an ideal place to stay overnight, where you can enjoy the facilities it has to offer when you return from a day of photography. Here are three Dutch locations near vacation parks where you are likely to find excellent photo opportunities.
The Biesbosch
The Biesbosch is ideal for photographing fauna or, more specifically, birds.
The Biesbosch is an adventurous maze of rivers, with islands covered in willow woods and winding creeks with crystal clear water. You can walk and cycle along the edges of the area, but the wet, rugged nature of this swamp is best experienced from the water, in a small boat or canoe. During a trip in the canoe or tour boat there is a good chance of spotting something. Evening and early morning are the best times to head out.
It is one of the few freshwater tidal areas in Europe. So you can experience the ebb and flow of the tides of the tides. There are beautiful holiday parks near the Biesbosch for a pleasant overnight stay. Choose a holiday park in the northwest of North Brabant or southeast of South Holland.
The Hoge Veluwe
This is one of the most beautiful national parks in the Netherlands. There is not only a variety of animals, but also of landscapes. The total area of De Hoge Veluwe is 5400 hectares. Here you will find beautiful sand drifts, hiking trails, forests and quiet places to take beautiful static photos, or just beautiful snapshots.
There are also very beautiful locations within the Veluwe for taking photographs. Think about Kootwijkerzand (many sand drifts, plus roe deer, red deer, and badgers), Leuvenum forests (landscapes change quickly here), Deelerwoud (very wooded area) and the Posbank (colorful heath with horses, boars and deer). Zeeland
Zeeland has a lot to offer when it comes to landscapes, flora and fauna. Wherever you book a holiday home in Zeeland, there is a beautiful piece of nature to be photographed.
The Zwin Zeeland, for example, is an ideal location to take beautiful photos of trees, landscapes, plants and animals. Photograph the tides, the dunes or the swampy area. The Zwin is a tidal inlet: a beach plain behind the dunes with an open connection to the sea. Directly behind the channel mouth is a sandy beach, further inwards there are dunes and salt marshes. Behind the row of dunes lie two small polders: the Kievittepolder and the Oudelandsepolder.
In the Zwinweide, once a side channel of the Zwin, is a highly varied area where fresh and salt water occur close together. Thanks to the alternation between wet and dry, salt and fresh, and clay and sand, the entire area has a great variation in plant growth.
Next to the Zwin there is also a nature reserve The Oranjezon highly recommended. It has a highly varied coastal landscape. The Oranjezon has long been used as a water extraction area: water from elsewhere was brought into the dunes to be filtered through the sand. The dunes have become rough due to the abundance of fresh water. Nowadays Oranjezon is a beautiful nature reserve, where you can encounter deer and fallow deer. The variation in landscape makes it a favorable habitat for many species of plants and animals.
