DJI Air 3S

DJI Air 3S Drone

The new DJI Air 3S captures detailed landscapes and portraits by day or night with a 1-inch CMOS camera, a 70mm medium-telephoto camera and Nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing.

The DJI Air 3S is an advanced dual-camera drone designed for travel photography. Its 1-inch CMOS primary camera and 70mm medium-telephoto camera each deliver up to 14 stops of dynamic range and support the new Free Panorama feature. Together, they give the Air 3S a flexible range of focal lengths for capturing landscapes, architecture and more in sharp detail.

The drone’s new nighttime obstacle sensing and precise next-generation Smart RTH (Return-to-Home) features provide added peace of mind when capturing cinematic images after dark.

Compared to the previous generation DJI Air 3 the DJI Air 3S uses a more advanced video-compression algorithm. It reduces video file sizes by more than 30% without sacrificing image quality, saving creators valuable storage space.

Dual Cameras

The Air 3S dual cameras improve 10-bit recording and high-ISO image quality. Even in the normal color mode, both Air 3S cameras can record 10-bit video with H.265 encoding, delivering refined color performance and greater flexibility in post-production. The maximum ISO has been increased to 12,800.

In D-Log M and HLG color modes, the maximum ISO is increased to 3,200, delivering greater clarity and detail in urban night scenes.

The Free Panorama mode in both cameras allows you to capture seamless panoramic shots by stitching together multiple images with a manually selected subject or area. The wide-angle camera offers a wider field of view (FOV), which greatly improves efficiency when taking panoramic photos.

The medium-telephoto camera significantly reduces perspective distortion. It creates expansive images by combining multiple frames with a broad perspective and captures rich detail with its longer focal length.

The large sensor of the primary 50MP, 1-inch CMOS camera, enhanced by advanced image processing technology and intelligent algorithms, preserves even the smallest details in low light, such as sunsets and night landscapes.

The secondary 70mm medium telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom excels in portrait and vehicle shots, offering a compressed depth of field to emphasize any subject with a bolder, more cinematic look. With its 48MP 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, this camera supports the same video specifications and color modes as the primary camera. This ensures visually consistent images for streamlined post-processing.

Safer Nighttime Flying

The Air 3S is the first DJI drone with forward-facing LiDAR. It also has downward-facing infrared time-of-flight (TOF) sensors and six vision sensors—two at the front, two at the rear and two underneath—to provide omnidirectional obstacle sensing in nighttime environments.

This technology enables the Air 3S to automatically identify and avoid obstacles during flight and return paths, ensuring hassle-free safety during night photography.

Powered by real-time visual positioning and map-building technologies, the DJI Air 3S remembers flight routes when sufficient light is available. This enables a safe return after takeoff from locations without a satellite signal1.

ActiveTrack 360°

The ActiveTrack 360° can keep any subject in the frame. Based on the surrounding flight environment, the optimized tracking performance automatically plans a flight path. It adjusts the framing to ensure more dynamic shots that keep the subject the center of attention, even when the lower half of their body is partially hidden, such as when they are behind bushes or on a bridge.

With up to 45 minutes of flight time, the Air 3S provides ample time to explore locations, compose images, capture cinematic footage and repeat a take.
