Lomography launched the new Petzval 58 Bokeh Control Art Lens as a continuation of a legacy that began in 1840. Joseph Petzval invented his revolutionary Petzval optics in 1840, creating a popular lens that significantly changed the world of portrait photography.
Now, 175 years later and following the successful Lomography New Petzval 85mm lens from 2013, the new Petzval 58 Bokeh Control Art Lens arrived.
The newly developed Bokeh Control Ring on the Petzval 58 gives you complete freedom to set the intensity of the swirling bokeh effect in your photographs. The new Petzval 58 has a maximum aperture of f/1.9, while its 58mm focal length makes it a useful all-around lens for street photography, portraits, landscapes or photographs of your cat jumping through the air.
Premium Petzval Quality & Features
With quality Russian glass optics, the Petzval 58 produces crystal-clear images with deep colors and plenty of character. The handcrafted lens was available in two versions: brass or a black finish. It was designed to work with modern analog and digital cameras and was offered in Canon or Nikon mounts. Adapter mounts also made it compatible with various other cameras.
At the time of its launch, the New Petzval 58 Bokeh Control Art Lens was available exclusively through Kickstarter. The first shipment was scheduled for December 2015.
