The Sony FE 28-70mm F2.0 GM lens is a premium E-mount zoom lens with a large aperture of F2 across the entire zoom range, resulting in beautiful bokeh, high resolution and unparalleled autofocus for both photography and video.
The Sony FE 28-70mm F2.0 GM combines the image quality of prime lenses with the versatility of a zoom. The compact, lightweight design (92.9 x 139.8 mm, 918 g) offers flexibility for a variety of situations including portraits, weddings, sports, documentaries and cinema. The constant F2 aperture ensures excellent photo and video performance, with sharp images from edge to edge thanks to three XA elements.
The lens delivers a soft bokeh through controlled spherical aberration and an 11-blade aperture. Chromatic aberration is limited by Super ED and ED elements, while the Nano AR Coating II minimizes flare.
Four XD motors and an advanced algorithm provide fast and accurate autofocus even at the high speed (AF/AE tracking up to 120 fps) of the Sony α9 III, which is essential when capturing weddings or sporting events where tracking also occurs while zooming.
For filmmakers, the lens reduces focus breathing and operates silently with Alpha cameras. Useful features such as Linear Response MF, an adjustable zoom ring clutch, an aperture ring and weather-sealed construction make the lens reliable and easy to use in challenging conditions.
There are also two customizable buttons for focus, an iris lock switch and an AF/MF switch. The filter diameter is 86 mm and the lens hood has a window for use of adjustable filters.
