Nikon has announced the finalists of the 2024 Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards. From all entries, a selection was made of forty photos, four portfolio images and three videos, capturing the special beauty and humor of the world's most remarkable wild animals.
This year, the world's most entertaining nature photography competition once again produced a record number of special and funny entries.
Nearly 9,000 entries from 98 countries entered for a chance to win the grand prize: a unique week-long safari with Alex Walker's Serian in the Maasai Mara.

This year's most notable entries include a cheetah playfully hiding behind a tree, a pair of bears warmly embracing, a fish chasing an eagle in the sky and a small flying squirrel exuding the confidence of a mafia boss.
The finalists were judged by a jury of leading photographers, including Nikon Creators Cameron Whitnall, Lara Jackson and Roxy Furman, and Nikon Ambassadors Daisy Gilardini and Charlie Hamilton James.
The public could also vote online for their favorite entry in the People's Choice Award, sponsored by Affinity Photo.

By voting for a favorite comical wildlife photo, participants could enter a free prize draw for a chance to win £500. Voting took place on the website via People's Choice link.
The winner of the competition, together with the winners of the various categories and honorable mentions, was announced on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at a special awards ceremony in London.
This was followed by a unique, free exhibition from December 10 to 16, 2024, where Nikon exhibited the beautiful work of the 2024 finalists in the Gallery@Oxo.
