Nikon is expanding its range of Nikkor Z telephoto zoom lenses with the Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8 and the Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR. Both lenses are surprisingly light and therefore handy and versatile for users who want to capture a wide variety of subjects.
The Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8 is a multifunctional telephoto zoom lens that takes professional shots both close up and at a distance. Thanks to the large and fixed aperture of f/2.8, it is ideal for photographing and filming people, events, sports, nature, landscapes, cityscapes and more, even in low light.
The close focusing distance ensures sharp close-up shots, and users can also capture macro shots when paired with the Z Teleconverter TC-2.0x, which doubles the lens's reproduction ratio to a near-life-size 0.96x magnification.
The Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR super telephoto zoom goes even further, covering the most popular focal lengths for wildlife, birds and aircraft with ease and with plenty of flexibility for sport and landscapes.
Powerful vibration reduction in the lens keeps shots stable and the internal zoom also provides a good balance when shooting hand-held: zooming in or out and panning or tilting are all possible without a tripod. Attach the Z Teleconverter TC-2.0x to this lens and you get a huge reach of 1200mm while still being able to shoot handheld.
Both lenses have a lightweight construction and weather-sealing, making them travel-friendly. The Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8 weighs only 795 grams and is also compact with a length of 151 mm. The Nikkor Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR super-telephoto lens weighs 1955 grams.
