With the new Leica SL2 Silver design variant with a classic look, Leica Camera AG is responding to the wishes of its users and once again demonstrating its ongoing dialogue with the people who use Leica products.
The design prioritizes function and is defined by minimalist features that focus on the essentials. It speaks a clear visual language and emphasizes both visual and tactile qualities. This approach is also reflected in the new silver version of the Leica SL2.
This design variant has a silver anodized top and bottom plate. The black leather cover is identical to that of the Leica M11 and completes the classic look. The silver Leica SL2 can also be used in combination with the M-adapter L and the legendary compact M lenses.
The technical specifications of the silver Leica SL2 are the same as those of the existing standard black SL2 camera. Intuitive, simple, and comfortable to use, it produces high-quality photos and videos thanks to its powerful 47 MP CMOS sensor.
Its high dynamic range and sensitivity range up to ISO 50,000 deliver attractive images in all lighting conditions. Images can be captured remotely via the Leica FOTOS app and transferred directly via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Numerous other features support a seamless workflow and make it easy to integrate the Leica SL2 into professional setups.
Two kits
The silver Leica SL2 is available as a kit with the versatile Leica Vario-Elmarit SL 24-70 f/2.8 ASPH.
The second kit consists of the silver anodized design version and the classic Leica Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH., including the M-Adapter L. This allows all M lenses ever produced to be used with SL cameras, giving them that distinctive look for photography and video.
Prices and availability
The Leica SL2 Silver was introduced in June 2023. The silver version is no longer available new, but may still be found on the secondhand market.
At launch, the Leica SL2 Silver had a suggested retail price of €7,100 including VAT. The kit with the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f/2.8 ASPH. was priced at €9,100, while the kit with the Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH. and M-Adapter L cost €13,890. (Leica Camera)
