Harman announces the Harman Red 125, a brand new, DX-coded ISO 125, 35mm Redscale film. Harman technology Ltd is one of the world's largest manufacturers of analogue photographic films, darkroom papers and photochemicals.
After the introduction of the Harman Phoenix 200, available in both 35mm and 120mm formats, the Harman Red 125 is now also part of Harman's long-term journey of discovery in the field of color.
Supported by recent announcements of significant capital investment in both operational and research and development functions, sales of this film are being reinvested to support the roadmap for future color films.
Harman Red is a medium sensitivity ISO 125 film supplied in DX-coded 36 exposure cassettes and processed via the standard C41 process.
It can transform everyday scenes into dystopian masterpieces with reds, oranges, yellows and greens while retaining the signature high contrast, vibrancy and grain.
“Redscale is the effect you get when shooting through the back of color film,” explains Giles Branthwaite, Sales & Marketing Director. "By doing this, you first expose your image through the base of the film and the red-sensitive layer, achieving stunning results that consist mainly of red, orange and yellow. The high red sensitivity and lack of an anti-halation layer make our Phoenix emulsion the ideal candidate for converting to a Redscale movie."
Harman invites photographers to follow their journey at @harmanphoto and share photos taken with the new Harman Red using the hashtags #harmanred and #harmanphoto. The packaging also includes a QR code for the film community to provide feedback on the product and what they would like to see from the company in the future.
