The Fujinon XF 16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II is a lightweight standard zoom lens designed for Fujifilm X-series cameras. This updated model is approximately 37% lighter than its predecessor and weighs only 410 grams, which significantly improves ergonomics and portability.
The Fujinon XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR is already a popular workhorse among Fujifilm users due to its constant brightness of F2.8 and its versatility in focal lengths (16-55mm). The new "II" version builds on this with improvements in weight, ergonomics and functionality.
The focal length of 16 to 55mm corresponds to 24 to 85mm in 35mm equivalent, and with a constant aperture of F2.8 throughout the zoom range, the lens is suitable for a variety of applications, such as portrait, reportage and landscape photography.
The new Red Badge lens offers improvements for videographers with the new Aperture Click Switch, which effortlessly switches between stepless aperture adjustment for smooth video transitions and step control for photography.
In addition, focus breathing is greatly reduced, resulting in stable and consistent image frames during focusing. These functions are optimally used in combination with Fujifilm cameras such as the X-H2S, X-H2 or X-T5, provided the firmware has been updated.
With an advanced optical construction of 16 elements in 11 groups, including ED, Super ED and aspherical lenses, the lens provides razor-sharp images from the center to the edges. Chromatic aberrations are effectively suppressed, while the lens also provides a soft, attractive bokeh. Thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 0.3 meters and a magnification factor of 0.21x, the lens performs excellently for close-up shots.
The XF 16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II is designed for use under harsh conditions. The lens is dust, weather and cold resistant down to -10°C, with 12 seals and a fluorine coating on the front element to repel water and dirt. The fast and quiet autofocus, powered by a linear motor, focuses in just 0.02 seconds, which is ideal for capturing decisive moments.
