102MP sensor and X-Processor 5
The GFX 100RF combines the 102-megapixel GFX 102MP CMOS II sensor (43.9 × 32.9 mm) with the X-Processor 5. The larger sensor delivers refined detail, wide dynamic range and rich, subtle color gradations—the qualities for which the GFX system is known.
Lightest GFX “large format” yet
Thanks to a completely redesigned lens and camera body, the GFX 100RF weighs just 735 grams. Fujifilm positions it as the lightest large-format camera in the GFX series, with the advantage that you can more easily take the camera with you for travel, street and landscape work.
Aspect Ratio button and Film Simulations
A striking innovation is the Aspect Ratio button: a physical dial that allows you to instantly switch between nine aspect ratios, inspired by Fujifilm's film history (such as 4:3 and 65:24). In practice, this is especially useful if you want to consciously compose in a certain format while photographing, instead of cropping afterwards.
The GFX100RF features twenty film simulation modes, including several color filter variants for black and white photography.
Fixed 35mm F4 lens and digital teleconverters
The GFX 100RF has a fixed 35mm F4 lens (approximately 28mm full-frame equivalent). That focal length is wide enough for street and landscape photography, yet still useful for reportage and environmental portraits. A lever activates the digital teleconverter options (45mm, 63mm and 80mm), making it easy to vary the angle of view in the field without changing lenses.
Fujifilm equips the camera with a leaf shutter rather than a focal-plane shutter. This helps keep the body compact and suits the fixed-lens concept.
Autofocus, screen and 'surround view'
The AI-based autofocus supports face and eye detection and also recognizes animals, vehicles and aircraft. For moving subjects, the camera can continue tracking in both photography and video, with an emphasis on reliable subject tracking.
The tilting 3.15-inch screen (2.1 million dots) works with a redesigned interface for quick operation. Another new feature is 'surround view', which displays a semi-transparent or outlined view outside the frame in the viewfinder. It approximates the experience of an optical viewfinder while using an electronic one—useful in street photography because you retain more context around the frame.
ND filter and practice
The GFX100RF has a built-in 4-stop ND filter, making it easier to work with a larger aperture or longer shutter speeds on sunny days. For creative effects such as motion blur or softer flowing water, this is a practical plus without having to take extra filters with you.
In addition, the camera can focus up to 20 centimeters, which also makes it interesting for close-ups and detailed shots on the go.
Video and workflow
For video, the GFX 100RF supports 4K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit and F-Log2 for a wide dynamic range in grading. In addition, the camera is compatible with Frame.io Camera to Cloud, which allows files to be uploaded directly to the cloud, convenient for teams and fast delivery.
