In 2020, Annelies Damen released two limited editions to raise funds for a girls’ school in Lamu, Kenya.
Because of the major impact of COVID-19 on tourism on her beloved island of Lamu in Kenya, Annelies Damen decided to release two additional photographs from her Longing for Lamu series.
For each photograph sold, €100 was to be donated to the fundraiser for the Shela Bright Secondary Girls School , which used the funds to assemble health packages containing food and hygiene products.

The photographs were released in a limited edition of 25, measuring 22 x 33 cm in a black aluminum frame, signed and numbered. The 2020 sale price was €380, including VAT and delivery within the Netherlands.
Haiba – charming
“Is this simply a beautiful face, or is she, like many Kenyan women, confined to her home? Fortunately, I know she is free to leave.”
Tafakari – contemplation
“I admire this strong-willed, attractive woman and feel humbled by the difficult journey she has endured.”
