DJI has launched the Osmo Mobile 7 Series, a new generation of smartphone gimbals that combines advanced three-axis stabilization and intelligent tracking. The series consists of two models: the Osmo Mobile 7P and the Osmo Mobile 7. Both models are equipped with DJI's seventh generation stabilization technology, ActiveTrack 7.0 and various smart functions to capture high-quality video images with a smartphone.
Those who prefer to film with a separate compact camera instead of a smartphone can also look at the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P.
The Osmo Mobile 7P stands out through its more powerful three-axis stabilization while retaining a compact, lightweight design. It includes the new Multifunctional Module, which makes it easy to track subjects.
The module integrates lighting control with adjustable color temperatures and brightness levels. In addition, this module can act as a microphone receiver and provide high-quality audio transmission via a USB-C connection, while at the same time supplying additional power to the smartphone.
The Osmo Mobile 7 is the lightest gimbal in its class at just 300 grams. This entry-level model, like the 7P, includes a built-in tripod, rapid unfolding and easy storage. The Multifunctional Module is available as an option.
Multifunctional Module
The Multifunctional Module helps users get more from their smartphone camera, livestreaming apps and other camera applications. It can automatically track subjects and maintain focus, even in busy environments. A magnetic clip attaches it to the gimbal, and hand gestures provide control:
• Showing your palm starts or stops intelligent tracking.
• A “V” gesture takes a photo.
• A “double L” motion with both hands adjusts the framing of the subject.
ActiveTrack 7.0
When paired with the DJI Mimo app, the Osmo Mobile 7 Series uses ActiveTrack 7.0, DJI's most advanced tracking technology to date. The gimbal automatically adjusts to follow subjects, even in dynamic or crowded environments.
Smart Capture detects multiple subjects and allows users to easily switch between people by tapping the screen.
Other notable features
• Side wheel for cinematic control: users can adjust focal length for flexible composition, zoom smoothly or focus manually. Pressing and holding the wheel also controls the light’s brightness and color temperature.
• Compatibility with Apple Watch: Via the DJI Mimo app, the Apple Watch can be used as a remote control for the gimbal.
• Battery life up to 10 hours: the long battery life allows you to film for long periods without interruptions.
Price and availability
Within the DJI Osmo Mobile 7 Series, the Osmo Mobile 7P costs €159, while the Osmo Mobile 7 costs €99.
