Looking for a suitable drone? The DJI Avata offers new creative possibilities to both beginners and professionals. The chassis of a traditional drone has been converted into a compact design for greater speed and maneuverability, weighing 410 grams. In addition, the DJI Avata also has aerodynamic propeller protectors integrated for extra safety.
The Avata features a powerfully stabilized camera with a 1/1.7" CMOS sensor with 48 million effective pixels, delivering premium images such as 4K/60fps and 2.7K/50/60/100/120fps video.
The DJI Avata is designed to be used in combination with the DJI Goggles 2 - DJI's latest flight control technology - and the DJI Motion Controller, which controls the drone based on its own hand movements. Users can control the drone with the existing DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 and the DJI FPV Goggles V2.
Thanks to DJI's flight technology, the DJI Avata can hover like a traditional drone, accelerate like a racing drone, fly through tight spaces and stop in a split second. If the DJI Avata exceeds its limits and lands upside down, the new Turtle mode allows it to flip back up and take off. DJI Avata's flight-control and stabilization technologies work together to provide a responsive flying experience.
Improved 4K imaging system with super stabilization
The DJI Avata has an excellent imaging system with a 1/1.7-inch 48MP Photo CMOS sensor with f/2.8 aperture and an ultra-wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of up to 155°. The wider field of view makes immersive aerial photographs and videos possible up to 4k/60fps, as well as slow-motion images up to 2.7K/100fps.
Equipped with the D-Cinelike color mode, the DJI Avata enables a wide color palette that allows detailed chromatic adjustments to the footage.
Even during high-pressure aerial maneuvers, the DJI Avata keeps your video sharp and stable with two stabilization technologies. DJI RockSteady eliminates overall image shake and DJI HorizonSteady keeps the image level with the horizon. All that data flows into 20 GB of internal storage for when you want to make a spontaneous recording, even without a microSD card installed in the onboard drive.
Safety
The built-in propeller protectors of the DJI Avata make the fuselage more durable and significantly reduce the chance of risks. This allows you to fly with more confidence with an aircraft that can handle minor impacts and right itself after a flip in Turtle mode.
Despite its small size, DJI Avata includes the important safety technology with which DJI has kept the world's airspace safe in the drone age. DJI Avata uses DJI's GEO 2.0 geofencing system. This advises pilots on airspace restrictions and potential hazards to prevent drones from flying near certain high-risk locations, such as airports.
The DJI Avata also features DJI's AirSense ADS-B receiver system to warn drone pilots when aircraft or helicopters are nearby. It also broadcasts DJI's AeroScope signal to help authorities monitor airborne drones in sensitive locations.
Drone pilots flying with FPV goggles must have a visual observer to act as a spotter. Also, many jurisdictions require a visual observer to watch for hazards in the airspace. Always fly safely and responsibly and ensure that legal requirements for flying are adhered to.
The DJI Avata is equipped with both an Infrared Sensing System and a Downward Vision System with two cameras. They help the aircraft maintain its current position, hover more accurately, fly indoors or in other environments where satellite navigation is not available, and identify areas such as bodies of water that are not suitable for landing.
To maintain good orientation while flying, DJI Avata and DJI Goggles 2 also display the Home Point where the drone has taken off. This Augmented Reality (AR) perspective provides an additional sense of direction to help the pilot locate the immediate environment in seconds.
Prices
A standalone version of the DJI Avata will be sold from EUR 579 without a remote control, motion controller or goggles, which is ideal for those who already have a compatible model to control and view from the drone.
The DJI Avata Pro View Combo costs EUR 1,429 and includes DJI Avata, DJI Goggles 2 and the DJI Motion Controller.
The DJI Avata Fly Smart Combo costs 1,149 EUR and includes DJI Avata, the DJI FPV Goggles V2 and the DJI Motion Controller.
The DJI Avata Fly More Kit costs 249 EUR and includes two DJI Avata Intelligent Flight Batteries and a DJI Avata Battery Charging Hub.
