Nikon introduces the D850 for full-frame photographers. When it comes to resolution, speed and sensor sensitivity, this camera is highly recommended.
This FX-format DSLR delivers high performance even under the most challenging lighting conditions.
Suitable for nature, wedding or fashion photography, commercial sports photography and/or film production. The light-sensitive FX-format sensor has an ISO range of 64–25,600 and uses an effective resolution of 45.7 megapixels to produce 45.4 MP images. The new gapless on-chip lens design with BSI technology (backside illumination) delivers exceptional detail and a wide dynamic range.
The frame rate can be increased to 9 fps when using the optional MB-D18 multifunction battery grip. The camera also has a 4K/UHD time-lapse function, while its high-resolution sensor makes it possible to create 8K interval sequences.
Another new feature that offers added flexibility is the ability to shoot RAW images in Large, Medium or Small sizes. In the new Silent Photography mode, full-resolution images can be captured in Live View without mirror or shutter noise.
The new Pinpoint AF autofocus mode is also available in Live View and provides even more precise focusing for macro shots. This is also the first DSLR with a built-in focus-stacking mode: the camera automatically takes up to 100 photos and shifts the focus position from the starting point to the end point, making it ideal for macro, product and/or landscape photography.
