With the EOS R6 Mark III, Canon introduces a new full-frame mirrorless camera for photographers and videographers who want to combine speed, high resolution and extensive video capabilities. The camera focuses on demanding subjects such as sports, wildlife, events and weddings.
With the R6 Mark III, Canon positions the camera between the EOS R6 Mark II and the EOS R5 Mark II. The camera offers more resolution than its predecessor, retains its high speed and is more strongly geared towards hybrid use by photographers who are also serious about filmmaking.
Under the hood is a newly developed 32.5-megapixel sensor that shoots at up to 40 frames per second with a deep buffer and intelligent autofocus that effortlessly keeps up with fast action. The improved tracking recognizes not only people but also trains, aircraft and horses—ideal for anyone who does not want to miss a moment.
Even in low light, the R6 Mark III remains convincing with an ISO range of up to 64,000, while image stabilization of up to 8.5 stops ensures sharp handheld photos. The rugged, weatherproof body and dual card slots (CFexpress + SD) make it ready for any job.
Filmmakers can get started with 7K RAW Light up to 60p or razor-sharp 4K 120p slow motion. Thanks to Open Gate and professional tools such as waveform monitoring and 4-channel audio, the R6 Mark III is also a serious filmmaking tool.
At the same time, Canon launched the new RF 45mm F1.2 STM, a lightweight f/1.2 prime that is well suited to portraits and low-light photography.
