The Photographers Café Kasteel Woerden organized a varied program for photo enthusiasts.
The afternoon program started at 15:00.
Sjef van Duin gives a crash course: Failed photography for advanced users.
What makes us call a photo a failure? In this Crash Course we will look for the answer. Are they actually still there, failed photos? In this multi-media presentation, photographer Sjef van Duin wonders whether this problem has been solved in the spirit of the times. What went wrong? A blurred motif captured too early or did it get away? How great was/is the sadness?

Sjef van Duin is librarian at the Dutch Photo Museum Rotterdam.

Nienke Elenbaas talks about her special photo projects. She was nominated for the SO2 Award 2024 from Dupho.
Friso Wijnen spoke at 20:00 (director of Bredaphoto) about: Journeys - A broad view of the BredaPhoto 2024 theme
He takes us on an exploration of perhaps the largest Photo Festival in the Netherlands: BredaPhoto. Friso talks about the characteristics and history of BredaPhoto and gave a preview of the 2024 theme: Journeys. Why this theme and how is it completed photographically? Attention is also paid to other cultural disciplines surrounding the festival, because photography is a starting point for BredaPhoto, not an end point.
He also talks about the fascination of young photographers with car documents and the ever-widening definition of photography: from a beautiful print on the wall to complete art installations.
The evening was from 21:15 concluded with the portfolio reviews by four professional photographers, and The Long Table. The reviewers have many years of experience in the world of photography and a lot of experience as a coach/teacher. The reviewers' advice will give you tools to get even more out of your photo work.
