The Photographers’ Café at Woerden Castle once again presents a varied program for photography enthusiasts.

The evening program begins at 19:30 with Fotoplaza. Hannelore Smilde presents her work. Hannelore, aged 28, lives in Rotterdam. She creates timeless, powerful portraits. In black and white, she gets to the essence: the look in the eyes and the story. She is currently working on the portrait series I won't forget you.
Anaïs López speaks at 20:00 about her two new transmedia projects in the making Blood bond and The Turtle and the Monk.
In her talk, she takes the audience through her creative process. She has developed from an unconventional photographer into a multidisciplinary storyteller who embraces collaboration. She shows how her stories take shape and how a small personal story can convey a universal message.
Photographer Anaïs López (1981) is first and foremost a storyteller. She creates long-term multimedia projects that are at the intersection of fiction and documentary. She is seen as a pioneer in her field and has won several awards. Her work has been exhibited in museums and festivals worldwide.
The evening concludes with portfolio reviews from 21:15 by professional photographers. The reviewers have many years of experience in photography and as coaches and mentors. Their advice provides practical ways to get more from your photographic work. Katharina Pöhlmann, Alex Feenstra, Corrie de Kruif and Roelant Meijer are available this evening.
The Long Table
At this table, you can talk about photography in a relaxed atmosphere. The Long Table’s motto is: ‘What can I do with my digital photo?’ Visitors and photographers familiar with printing and different paper types can gather here. Visitors and photographers with experience of making booklets are also welcome.
The discussion covers different photo-book publishers and the design of your own photo book. In short, come and be surprised, and leave the Photographers’ Café with this thought: ‘A digital image becomes a photograph once it has been printed.’
