How Snapseed Works on Android and iOS

How Snapseed Works on Android and iOS | Fotografie.nl

This is the first comprehensive Dutch-language guide to Snapseed. It covers every feature in the app and discusses each menu and submenu.

Snapseed is a popular free photo-editing app from Google for Android and iOS. It is widely used for smartphone photography.

The app offers solid basic editing tools, including selective adjustments. It can also edit raw photographs. Numerous filters provide quick effects, and you can customize them and save your own. The controls are fully optimized for touchscreen use.

Zo werkt Snapseed book cover

This book is for smartphone users who take photographs and want to do more with their images than simply record unedited scenes. Its readers may be interested beginners, photography enthusiasts, artists, or business professionals who increasingly use a smartphone as a tool or even as their primary camera. Post-processing is not an innate skill, which is why this book exists.

Snapseed—like smartphone photography itself—is somewhat underrated compared with photography using ‘serious’ cameras and editing in Photoshop or Lightroom. The app is not a replacement for those programs, just as a smartphone is not strictly a replacement for a camera. Yet it holds its own in smartphone photography.

The original is shown on the left; on the right, it has been transformed into a photograph from the 19th century.

The book is practical and straightforward. It demonstrates all of Snapseed’s features, including its 29 tools, and works well as a reference guide. It contains more than one hundred and forty screenshots with explanations and step-by-step instructions. The topics follow Snapseed’s own structure.
