The winners of the Duos in Beeld photo competition were announced, with first prize going to Mariëtte Aernoudts. She received a Forex wall decoration from Fotofabriek.nl.
Mariëtte Aernoudts' winning photo is a beautiful composite of two sisters with closed eyes: "These two sisters are very close and being together gives them a feeling of safety and security. They know they can rely on each other, no matter what happens."
Editorial: "This masterpiece is a dreamy fusion of two sisters, lost in the tranquility of closed eyes. An image that floats between the softness of a snapshot and deep echoes of an unspoken story."
A total of 59 photographs were submitted to the competition, and the public cast 161 votes.

The second prize, a compelling photo of two sisters with open eyes, was won by Eefke Peeters: "I recently started taking photographs again. How could it be otherwise with such beautiful daughters? The sisters Ella and Sira have many similarities, but at least as many differences."
Editorial: “This is a photo that commands attention, two sisters, their eyes wide open like windows to unknown thoughts. It is an image that speaks of unspoken questions and stories, captured in the clarity of their gaze.”

The editors noted that many inspiring photographic talents among Fotografie.nl’s readers deserved wider recognition and announced another photo competition at the time.
