Tim Flach (born in London in 1958) is known for his animal portraits and his interest in how people see animals and shape their meaning, while exploring the role images play in fostering an emotional connection. His work brings the complexity of the animal kingdom to life and encompasses a wide range of species, united by a distinctive style that reflects an interest in connecting people more closely with the natural world.
He has produced several books and won various awards for his work, including three Cannes Lions. His work is exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide. Tim lives in London with his wife and son.
He has published five books: Endangered (2017), Evolution (2013), More than Human(2012), Dogs Gods (2010), and Equus (2008).
Professor Richard Plum, a leading evolutionary ornithologist and internationally recognized expert on feathers, wrote the introductions to the book’s sections. His knowledge and approach make him especially well placed to explain why birds have such distinctive plumage, colors, and forms.
