Although sea salt extraction is one of the oldest forms of landscaping, we rarely wonder where the salt comes from and how it is produced. Sites for sea salt production can be found all over the world, usually along shallow coasts.

The ionic lattices of salt are one of the central elements of organic life. Tom Hegen has this one magical landscapes explored from the air and obtained spectacular images.
