The Sony World Photography Awards has announced the thirty finalists and more than sixty-five shortlisted photographers for the 2026 Professional Competition. The competition focuses on series and projects in which technique and storytelling come together. According to the organization, more than 430.000 entries from over two hundred countries and territories were submitted this year.
The ten category winners were selected from the finalists and announced at a ceremony in London on April 16, 2026. That same evening, Citlali Fabián was named Photographer of the Year.

The winner received a cash prize of 25.000 dollars, a package of Sony Digital Imaging equipment and a solo presentation at the London exhibition the following year.
Dutch photographer Peter Lipton was shortlisted in the Architecture & Design category.
A selection of work by finalists and shortlisted photographers was on display at Somerset House from April 17 through May 4, 2026 as part of the Sony World Photography Awards 2026 Exhibition. The exhibition then traveled to other locations.
