A nice new lens from Sony: the FE 50mm F1.4 GM is the latest addition to the popular G Master full-frame lens series. It is a high-end 50mm prime lens with a very compact and lightweight design.
Despite a large aperture of F1.4, this lens can produce exceptional image quality, including high resolution and beautifully smooth bokeh, which the G Master series is known for.
This lens is suitable for a variety of applications in both photography and videography and with the latest Sony cameras it can be used to capture a range of subjects such as portraits, landscapes, to travel, weddings and more.

The lens is designed and manufactured to control spherical aberration, resulting in a special bokeh effect. This lens produces natural-looking bokeh with an eleven-blade circular aperture and maintains sharpness throughout the maximum aperture range.
For example, the circular bokeh can be used to make portrait subjects stand out from their background and make them stand out.
The FE 50mm F1.4 GM lens has two XA elements that effectively correct field curvature and most types of aberration. It also has an ED glass element that prevents color bleeding, keeping images sharp and clear. Combining these elements in the lens design results in high resolution across the entire frame. The lens is coated with Sony's Nano AR Coating II to reduce reflections, even in scenes with backlight.

The minimum focus distance of the FE 50mm F1.4 GM lens is only 0.41 meters and the maximum magnification is 0.16x when Autofocus is used. The lens is 33% lighter and has 15% less volume compared to conventional models with the same specifications.
The autofocus of the FE 50mm F1.4 GM is accurate and no less than 1.9x faster than conventional models with the same specifications.
