This wide-angle lens is ideal for landscape photography and, due to its wide angle of view, also offers excellent options for architectural photography, with minimal distortion. In addition, the lens provides a natural perspective for portraits and is ideally suited for street photography, where you can work with subtle precision.
The lens is equipped with an internal zoom mechanism, has a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm throughout the entire zoom range and uses a filter size of 82 mm. Despite the high brightness and extensive functions, the weight of the lens remains under 1 kg.
The maximum aperture of F1.8, previously only available with prime lenses, offers full-frame camera users the ability to shoot in low-light conditions and achieve beautiful bokeh, while retaining the flexibility of a zoom lens.
Due to the internal zoom mechanism, the length of the lens remains unchanged, regardless of the chosen focal length or focusing distance. This ensures ease of use for handheld photography, provides extra stability when used on a tripod or gimbal, and increases protection against dust and water.
The minimum focusing distance of 30 cm remains consistent throughout the zoom range, with a maximum magnification factor of 1:4 at the telephoto end. This enables accurate close-up shots without loss of sharpness.

This lens from Sigma features a dust and splash-proof housing, designed to withstand various weather conditions. In addition, the front lens has a water- and oil-repellent coating, which makes the lens more durable and easier to maintain.
