In collaboration with RED, Nikon is expanding the Z CINEMA line with the ZR full-frame cinema camera. Designed for filmmakers and creative professionals who work on the move, the ZR is, according to Nikon, the lightest all-in-one cinema camera currently available. It records up to 6K/60p internally and supports a full range of professional video formats.
With its 6K full-frame sensor, renowned RED-color science, large on-camera monitor, and internal 32-bit float audio, the all-new ZR can capture striking images and clean sound without external equipment.

One standout feature is the exclusive R3D NE codec, which brings RED’s renowned color science to Nikon. The ZR also offers Dual Base ISO 800/6400, preserving more than 15 stops of sensor dynamic range for detail in highlights and shadows.
The ZR has a 4-inch tilting monitor. The large, bright display serves as a comprehensive control hub and supports the DCI-P3 color gamut for accurate on-set color reproduction. The ZR also offers internal 32-bit float audio recording.
The wide dynamic range of 32-bit audio means levels do not need to be monitored constantly while filming: audio can be recorded freely and adjusted afterward without clipping.

Other professional ZR features include comprehensive weather sealing and compatibility with a wide range of Nikon and third-party lenses.
The ZR also offers extensive system-expansion options, while Nikon’s new ME-D10 digital shotgun microphone provides rich, directional audio in a wide range of recording environments.
Availability and Price
The Nikon ZR body is available at a suggested retail price of €2,349.
