The Nikon Z8 brings much of the power of the Z9 to a more compact and lightweight camera body. It is aimed at photographers and hybrid creators who need high performance but do not always want to carry the largest body.
The Z8 uses much of the Z9's 45.7-megapixel technology, processing power and autofocus, but places it in a smaller body without an integrated vertical grip. The Z9 remains the larger and more robust flagship, including a larger battery.
What does the Nikon Z8 offer?
The Z8 shoots 45.7 MP photos with a wide dynamic range and offers continuous shooting at flexible speeds of up to 120 fps with full AF/AE without viewfinder blackout.
Special portrait features allow photographers to fine-tune hue and brightness or soften skin tones. For creators of HDR-content, the camera takes 10-bit HEIF photos and records 10-bit HLG video.
Subject detection and AF work for videos and photos down to -9 EV. The eyes remain sharp, even if a subject moves quickly and upside down. Faces are shown sharply, even with subjects with strong backlight.
The Z8 features professional-grade weather sealing and delivers reliable performance at low temperatures, matching flagship models such as the D6 and Z9 from Nikon. The Z8 is also Nikon's first system camera with two USB-C ports, making it possible to transfer files while charging.
Nikon's new battery grip MB-N12 can be used as a grip for vertical shooting or for better balance when using telephoto lenses, as well as for longer shooting throughout the day.
The Nikon Z8 is available for €4,299. With the battery grip MB-N12 the price comes to €5,649.
