At the time of the original announcement, Nikon introduced the D7500, a camera designed to give photographers additional creative possibilities. The powerful, portable D7500 was designed for constant connectivity and offered the same image quality as the D500, Nikon’s flagship DX-format DSLR.
Like the D500, the 20.9 MP DX-format CMOS sensor in the D7500 offered an ISO range extending to the equivalent of ISO 1,640,000. Nikon’s EXPEED 5 processor provided faster processing and produced sharper images than its predecessor. With a higher pixel count of 180,000, the RGB sensor delivered more accurate metering and improved scene recognition. Filmmakers could record 4K/UHD video, while Nikon’s built-in electronic vibration reduction reduced the effects of unwanted camera movement.
Ergonomic improvements included a new tilting monitor operated via the touchscreen and a deep grip for a stable, highly comfortable hold. This was the first Nikon DSLR with a built-in flash to support radio-controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting when used with the WR-R10 wireless transceiver.

The Nikon D7500 was scheduled to become available in June 2017. The suggested retail price of the D7500 body was €1,499. The suggested retail price of the D7500 kit with the AF-S DX 18-105 ED VR was €1,799.
