The French-Swiss-Italian photographer traveled through the Himalayas for more than twenty years, photographing its most remote regions. He then spent another twenty years photographing on every continent. He has published 36 books, translated into nine languages, of which one and a half million copies have been sold; many have also inspired films.
Föllmi has received numerous awards, including a World Press Photo Award, and has exhibited his work in galleries around the world.
