MagMod stands for Magnet Mod, a modular system that uses magnetic attachment to mount and swap light modifiers quickly on an on-camera flash. More precisely, MagMod consists of a silicone-rubber sleeve that fits virtually any flash.

Kickstarter
The MagMod system was devised by Spencer Boerup, a professional photographer who understands the practical demands. He launched MagMod through the online crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, where he raised the required amount of 35,000 dollars within five hours; after one month, Boerup had reached 200,000. That resounding success, supported by further Kickstarter funding, led to expansion kits such as MagBounce and MagSphere.
And yes, the powerful magnets in your camera bag do not affect memory cards, triggers, flashes or other camera equipment stored there. You should still be careful with magnets around hard drives—something even MacGyver has yet to solve.
