The new bright M lens presents itself with improved technical features in the Summicron-M 28 f/2 ASPH. These are ideal for the latest sensor technology and therefore for both current and future camera generations. At the same time, the combination of wide angle with the focusing distance, which has been shortened from 70 to 40 centimeters, offers additional photographic possibilities.
Focusing up to 70 centimeters still works via the optical rangefinder of all digital and analog M cameras. After a slightly noticeable resistance, the extended close-up range between 70 and 40 centimeters can be accurately focused via Live View on the screen, the Visoflex 2 viewfinder or with the Leica FOTOS app.

Thanks to the compactness of the M lens, the new Summicron-M 28 f/2 ASPH. also characterized by ease of use. The lens hood in a modern, round design is integrated directly into the lens and can now be screwed on or off at any time with a simple movement of the wrist.
Inside the lens, nine lenses in six groups provide images that are rich in contrast and detailed. The 10-blade diaphragm provides beautiful bokeh at larger apertures.
The focus ring can be adjusted in a quiet and smooth manner.
