Once again, a full-frame rangefinder camera without an LCD: the Leica M11-D.
Without a rear display, the Leica M11-D focuses photography on the essentials: composition, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. A large ISO dial takes the place of the rear display, but the new M11-D sacrifices none of its functionality.
With its extensive customization, modern connectivity, and hardware-based authenticity technology—first introduced in a camera with the Leica M11-P as Leica Content Credentials—the M11-D combines classic rangefinder photography with advanced camera capabilities.

With its clean lines, matte-black painted surfaces, and absence of the red Leica logo, the new M11-D is an exercise in understatement within Leica’s timeless product design.
The authenticity of photographs taken with the Leica M11-D can therefore be checked at any time with a freely available tool or at https://contentcredentials.org/verify.
Triple Resolution Sensor Technology
The Leica M11-D can capture images at 60, 36, or 18 MP. Its 3 GB buffer supports continuous shooting at up to 5 frames per second at 60 MP. The 256 GB internal memory provides ample storage capacity. The battery keeps the camera ready whenever it is needed. The compact full-frame body sits comfortably in the hand and weighs 540 grams including the battery, 115 grams less than the previous model.
The M11-D is easy to use and is part of the M system, making it compatible with an extensive range of M lenses produced since 1954.

Photographers who prefer an electronic viewfinder within the M system can choose the Leica M EV1, the first M camera with an integrated EVF.
The camera uses a full-frame sensor with Triple Resolution Technology developed for the Leica M11 series and offers an ISO range of 64 to 50,000 for strong low-light performance with controlled noise.
Digital Workflow With the Leica FOTOS App
Although the Leica M11-D brings an analog experience into the digital world, it is not limited to that approach. Each photographer can decide when to incorporate a digital workflow. The new M camera offers seamless connectivity via Bluetooth or a direct cable connection. As a certified “Made for iPhone® and iPad®” product, it connects especially quickly and conveniently to iOS devices.
Additional settings can be adjusted in the Leica FOTOS app on a smartphone. The app connection enables easy image transfer, remote control, and geotagging. Images can also be reviewed and rated independently of the camera in the Leica FOTOS app on iOS or Android devices.

Settings such as white balance and the choice between DNG and JPEG can also be configured in the app. Once saved in Leica FOTOS, the M11-D retains those settings, allowing the camera to be tailored to the photographer’s needs.
Matching Accessories and Environmentally Friendly Packaging
Two matching accessories made from high-quality leather are available for the new M11-D. One is a black protector designed specifically for the M11-D, with a cutout for the mechanical ISO dial on the back. The other is a carrying strap available in black and cognac, made from a single piece of leather and suitable for all Leica M-series cameras.
With a clear focus on the future, Leica is redesigning its packaging and introducing a new packaging concept for Leica products, beginning with the M11-D. The redesigned boxes are made in Germany and consist almost entirely of natural paper.
