The ten finalists in the Hasselblad Masters 2016 Competition had been announced. They included Dutch photographers Lars van de Goor and David Peskens. A professional jury, together with a public vote, then determined the winners. For the first time, the Hasselblad Master Awards also gave the winning photographers a brand-new Hasselblad medium-format camera.
The winners were due to receive their awards and cameras at a special photokina 2016 ceremony in Cologne in September of that year.
The winners by category: Swee Oh (USA) Architecture, Roy Rossovich (Sweden) Fashion/Beauty, Katerina Belkina (Germany) Fine art, Lars Van De Goor (Netherlands) Landscape, Natalia Evelyn Bencicova (Slovakia) Portrait, Georgio Cravero (Italy) Product, Jake Reeder (Australia) Project//21, Ali Rajabi (Iran) Street/Urban, John Paul Evans (UK) Wedding, David Peskens (Netherlands) Wildlife.
The ten Master photographers were also due to receive a trophy at photokina 2016 and have their work exhibited at venues around the world.
