This Handbook of Landscape Photography guides you step by step so that you, too, can return home with a strong photograph. It meets the need for a current book that explains and illustrates every aspect of landscape photography.

In the book you will discover four different types of chapters. You can recognize the type by the dot that starts each chapter.
Knowledge
In these chapters you will mainly find theory, (technical) information and background knowledge, necessary as a basis for every landscape photographer.
Practice
After the knowledge you have acquired, you go into the field with the practice-oriented chapters. Each chapter covers a different practical topic, ranging from light, weather, use of equipment to creative photography. These chapters provide you with all the tools you need to set out on your own.
In the Field
This section becomes even more practical, introducing special techniques that help you get the most from a landscape. The “In the Field” chapters therefore function as compact workshops.
Spotlight
The Low Countries contain many photogenic landscape types. The Spotlight chapters explore many of them and provide the information needed to photograph these specific places.
The final two types of chapter are scattered through the book like colorful confetti. The Knowledge and Practice chapters follow a clear sequence, beginning with the essential background you need before you start photographing landscapes.
Via the technical information (such as settings) you end up in the middle section of the book. This is entirely dedicated to the practice of landscape photography, illustrated with hundreds of beautiful photos.
The concluding chapters address broader themes and personal development, including project-based work and producing a final result. This structure does not mean you must read the book in order. You can focus on the areas you still find difficult and work on them directly, step by step.
