Give Your Photo Exhibition Its Own Style

Give Your Photo Exhibition Its Own Style | Fotografie.nl

Are you considering showing your photographs to the public? You could, of course, have them printed on photo paper and then framed. Today, however, you can also choose from other distinctive materials. Each has unique qualities that can give your exhibition its own style. Here is an overview of materials suitable for a photo exhibition.

Forex

Using foam board for exhibitions is nothing new. Often, however, a photograph is printed on photo paper and then mounted on foam board, which costs time and money. You can instead have your photograph printed directly on forex. The image is printed on lightweight white foam board. The white base produces bright colors and brings out every detail, while a forex print also avoids reflections.

• Lightweight and easy to hang
• Razor-sharp colors
• No reflections on your printed photographs

Aluminum or Dibond

Among these options, an aluminum or Dibond print is a bold and distinctive material for an exhibition. A photograph printed on brushed aluminum has a rugged appearance because the image is printed directly onto the aluminum sheet. The coarse texture remains visible, and white areas in the photograph take on the color of the aluminum. When light strikes the print, it creates a 3D effect.

With a photograph on Dibond , this effect is subtler because a white top layer is added. That white coating allows white areas to remain visible in the print.

Aluminum

• Exceptionally strong material
• 3D effect in incident light
• Black-and-white photographs combined with aluminum create a distinctive look

Acrylic Glass

A photograph on acrylic glass costs more than the materials above, but in return it is exceptionally strong, creates depth, and has a luxurious appearance. Acrylic glass is therefore often seen in museums and galleries.

An acrylic-glass photo print uses a five-millimeter-thick thermoplastic sheet onto which the photograph is printed directly. The material is suitable for outdoor exhibitions, so a passing rain shower need not be a concern. Light also adds an extra dimension to the image.

• Creates reflections that can be used creatively with light
• Ideal for outdoor exhibitions

Tip: although each material has unique qualities that help photographs shine in an exhibition, you can also mix them to make the display stand out even more.
