Fujifilm expands the X Series with a versatile new lens: the Fujinon XC 13-33mm F3.5-6.3 OIS. This standard zoom combines wide-angle and standard focal lengths in a remarkably lightweight, compact design. When retracted, it measures just 37.5 millimeters and weighs only 125 grams, making it the smallest and lightest zoom lens in the Fujinon range.
With a range of 13 to 33 mm (equivalent to 20–50 mm in 35mm format), the lens suits a range of situations, from landscapes and interiors to portraits and street photography. Its minimum focusing distance of 20 centimeters throughout the zoom range also makes close-ups of flowers, food or pets easy.
The built-in image stabilization compensates for up to four stops, making handheld photography practical in low light or at slower shutter speeds. According to Fujifilm, autofocus responds in approximately 0.025 seconds and focuses accurately even on moving subjects.
The optical design uses 10 elements in 9 groups, including four aspherical and three ED elements. This combination minimizes distortion, field curvature and chromatic aberration while retaining the compact design.
A rounded 9-blade aperture creates pleasantly soft background blur, making the lens both practical and creatively appealing.
