The GP-VPT3 is a wireless shooting grip for Sony Alpha and Vlog cameras that can also be used as a tripod. It supports cameras weighing up to 1.5 kg and was designed with ease of use in mind: it is ergonomically shaped, suitable for both left- and right-handed users, and features a flexible tilt-and-swivel mechanism. This lets you quickly change viewpoints, for example from a standard shooting position to selfie mode.
The grip works with the RMT-VP2 Bluetooth remote control, which can be detached. It lets you operate the camera remotely—useful for group photos or situations where you want to avoid camera shake.
The remote includes controls for video recording, zooming, focusing, and a customizable C1 button. The wireless connection works at a range of about ten meters and is compatible with selected Sony cameras and Xperia smartphones.
One advantage of this system is that it requires no separate cables or receivers. That not only makes it easy to use, but also helps maintain the camera's weather resistance.
Thanks to the ergonomically designed grip, you can capture content with one hand while operating key camera functions such as zoom and focus, whether you are right- or left-handed.
The grip and remote connect to the device without cables or receivers, helping the camera retain its resistance to dust and moisture during use.

Price & availability
The Sony GP-VPT3 was scheduled to become available in June 2025 for approximately €145, while the Sony RMT-VP2 was priced at approximately €85.
