Fotostudio van Bemmelen has been in business since 1929. As a third-generation photographer, I build on nearly a century of experience in corporate photography. I combine that rich history with a contemporary visual style, a personal approach and the latest techniques.

From the profile
I am curious, engaged and value an open, direct approach. During a photo shoot, I stay in constant conversation with the people in front of my camera.
About the photographer
Mike van Bemmelen is a corporate photographer who works with organisations throughout the Netherlands that want to present themselves in an authentic and credible way. No polished stock images or artificially generated visuals, but photographs of people where they work, meet, care, build or lead. Mike photographs for corporations, small and medium-sized businesses and organisations in sectors including law, accountancy, consultancy, transport and logistics, and healthcare. His images are used for websites, social media, employer branding and marketing, but they always begin with the same question: who is this organisation, really?
Calm, trust and authenticity are central to Mike van Bemmelen’s work. He creates corporate portraits, team photographs and company reports without forced poses or an artificial appearance. By communicating openly and directly during a shoot, he quickly puts people at ease. This produces spontaneous photographs in which employees recognise themselves and which show what an organisation truly feels like. With close attention to light, composition and detail, Mike creates images that look professional while remaining human.
The variety of assignments is an important part of Mike van Bemmelen’s enjoyment of his profession. From portraits and team photographs to short corporate films and drone imagery, he approaches each assignment with a fresh perspective on what an organisation needs. The more challenging the assignment, the greater the satisfaction, especially when the bar is high and a client has been searching for the right photographer for a long time. At heart, Mike is a people photographer: whether he has a CEO or someone on the shop floor in front of his camera, every person is equally interesting to him. Clear communication, engagement and genuine attention always form the basis for a successful result.

Photo with a story

I took this photograph while traveling through Vietnam during Tết, the Vietnamese New Year. It is a major celebration, and many people wear their finest traditional clothing. This woman was sitting here, away from the crowds, taking a moment to relax. The contrast between the historic, relatively dark setting, her light-colored clothing and the bright red umbrella created a wonderful image that I simply had to capture.
For professional assignments, I always carry a large case full of equipment. When traveling, however, I limit myself to one camera, preferably with a fixed wide-angle lens and high resolution. This allows me to place my images in context while still being able to crop digitally without losing quality. I took this photograph with my Leica Q3 28 at f/1.7 and 1/1000 second.
Photo story coming soon
This section will be added later. We ask the photographer to choose a special photograph and tell the story behind it. Until then, you will see an image from the current profile here.
