Good photography tells the story behind an organization, brand or person and creates trust before a single word has been read.

About the photographer

Ferry Knijn is a photographer, filmmaker and storyteller. Since 2014, he has worked professionally through Ferry Knijn Media for companies, organizations and brands that want to present themselves in an authentic and compelling way. His background in documentary film strongly influences how he observes: he looks not only at the image itself, but above all at the story behind a person, organization or brand. At the same time, his commercial experience ensures that his photography makes a meaningful contribution to marketing, communications and branding.

His style is cinematic, narrative and authentic. Ferry combines spontaneous moments with careful composition and thoughtful use of light. Before picking up his camera, he wants to understand who someone is and what an organization stands for. This curiosity helps him create a calm, relaxed atmosphere in which people can remain themselves. The result is professional imagery that never feels staged or distant, but remains credible and human.

Ferry specializes in corporate storytelling, corporate photography, portraits, events, editorial and documentary photography, and visual content for campaigns and branding. Rather than looking at individual photographs in isolation, he considers the complete series and the relationship between the images. This creates a visual story that strengthens a brand, organization or project as a whole. He prefers to work where the story actually takes place, combining real moments with careful attention to composition, light and detail.

Two assignments have stayed with him in particular. For Fujifilm, he created a documentary series on Terschelling about cranberry pickers, bringing together nature, tradition and craftsmanship. For the Red Cross, he photographed survivors of human trafficking. That project showed him how meaningful photography can become when people feel safe enough to share their stories. This human connection lies at the heart of his work: narrative, authentic and powerful.
