Ernest Selleger

On his 9th birthday, Ernest received his first camera, an Agfa ritsrats. While other children photographed pets, Ernest wanted people in front of his lens. At 16, photographer Cees Noort sent Ernest out with a camera. He was not allowed to return until he had taken a good photograph. At 17, Ernest photographed his neighbour, who wanted to become a model. Corine Spier of the modelling agency Corine’s Agency was very impressed by the girl next door, but also saw a future in Ernest’s photography. Encouraged in part by her enthusiasm, he went to the Photo Academy in The Hague.

In his work, he looks for more than a straightforward record. Whether it is a portrait, a wedding reportage, a family shoot or a corporate reportage, the focus is always on capturing the essence of the moment and the personality of the people in front of his lens.

His approach is professional and focused, with an eye for both image quality and efficient production. Ernest enjoys making photographs that communicate clearly: images that convey atmosphere, trust, vulnerability or strength. This visual connection is especially important in portrait and corporate photography. Based in Alkmaar, he works for private and corporate clients looking for a photographer who is technically skilled, works well with people and can translate a brief into images with character.
