Sacha de Boer – The Road to Water
Paleis Soestdijk shows Sacha de Boer’s photo reportage for WaterAid Netherlands about women in Kenya and Indonesia living with water scarcity.

From 24 July to 30 August 2026, Paleis Soestdijk presents the summer exhibition Sacha de Boer – The Road to Water. For WaterAid Netherlands, De Boer travelled to Kenya and Indonesia, where she photographed women dealing daily with water scarcity, climate change and the struggle for safe drinking water.
The exhibition occupies an entire wing of the palace and combines portraits with reportage images from Kajiado in Kenya and West Timor in Indonesia. The photographs emphasise strength, resilience and local solutions for water and climate.
With the exhibition, WaterAid Netherlands, Sacha de Boer and Paleis Soestdijk draw attention to the global water crisis. According to the organisers, admission is €10, half of which goes to WaterAid Netherlands. A ticket also gives access to the palace garden.
