Foam and Middle East Archive present two photography projects about women from the MENA region in Amsterdam-West, at Mercatorplein and MAQAM.

Foam and Middle East Archive present two connected exhibitions in Amsterdam-West. The presentations are based on the publication Al Nisa / Women and focus on visual culture from the Middle East and North Africa.
At Mercatorplein, Egyptian-French photographer Yomna El Beyaly portrays the everyday lives of women and girls in Cairo in In Her Own Way. Her images explore care, beauty, togetherness and the ways in which women shape their own identities.
At MAQAM, Al Nisa / Women brings together work by photographers from the MENA region. The exhibition at Mercatorplein runs from 1 to 29 October 2026; the presentation at MAQAM is on view from 1 October to 20 December 2026. During this period, Foam is also organising workshops and photography tours in Amsterdam-West.
