Lola Pertsowsky – In the Mother Tongue

At FOMU, Lola Pertsowsky explores everyday domestic life through photographs that reveal connections between people, animals, plants and objects.

For In the Mother Tongue, Lola Pertsowsky photographs her mother’s home. Butter, insects and unwashed dishes become subjects that invite us to look more closely at familiar surroundings.

The artist explores how we live alongside animals, plants and everyday objects, and how they help shape our daily lives. By returning to the same surroundings again and again, she reveals relationships that can easily escape our attention.

The exhibition is part of the FOMU Grant, through which the museum supports the creation of new work, an exhibition and an acquisition for its collection.
