Jazz & Other Curiosities – Nico van der Stam 101
Gallery WM shows original prints by Nico van der Stam, with jazz, pop, the Jordaan, fashion and Dutch celebrities from the 1950s to the 1970s.

Gallery WM presents Jazz & Other Curiosities – Nico van der Stam 101, an exhibition about the work of freelance photographer Nico van der Stam (1925-2000). It is based on a selection of original prints from the collection of Hannie van Ooijen, Van der Stam’s widow.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Van der Stam photographed Amsterdam’s jazz scene and, after 1965, also turned his attention to pop music. The exhibition also includes fashion photographs, images of the Jordaan and portraits of Dutch celebrities.
Original press prints
Many of the photographs on display are original press prints, sometimes with signs of use, stamps or notes. This gives the exhibition a raw, archival character and shows the breadth of Van der Stam’s work.
The exhibition has been extended until 12 September 2026. Gallery WM is open Wednesday to Saturday, 13:00–18:00.
